Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about our websites, pricing, hosting and support.
How much does a website cost?▾
Every project is slightly different, but most websites we build fall between £400–£1,200 depending on the number of pages and features required.
Typical starting points:
- Static websites from £400
- Content-managed websites from £600
- Additional pages from £100 each
Integrations such as bookings, e-commerce or APIs are quoted separately.
How does the process work?▾
Every project starts with a short consultation so we can understand what you need.
After that you’ll receive a clear quote outlining:
- The website build
- Any integrations or additional features
- Hosting requirements
Once approved, we begin the build.
How many revisions are included?▾
All website builds include one round of revisions during the design phase.
Additional revisions can be added if needed.
What does hosting include?▾
All hosting plans include:
- Secure hosting
- SSL certificate
- Automated backups
- Security updates
- Uptime monitoring
This ensures your site stays secure, fast and online.
What's the difference between Standard Hosting and Fully Managed?▾
Standard Hosting (£45/month) covers the technical side — hosting, maintenance and security.
Fully Managed (£70/month) includes everything in Standard Hosting, plus 4 hours of ongoing support and content updates handled for you.
It’s designed for businesses who’d rather just throw over changes and know that they’re taken care of.
Can I update the website myself?▾
Yes — if your website includes a content management system (CMS) you’ll have a secure login and can update your content whenever you like.
Edits are unlimited, but they’re made within the existing site layout and structure. Structural or design changes are quoted separately.
What if I need help updating my site but I'm not on the managed plan?▾
You can purchase support credits which can be used for updates, improvements or small changes whenever you need them.
Credits are ideal for occasional updates without committing to a monthly support plan.
Can I add more pages later?▾
Yes. Additional pages can be added at any time and are typically £100 per page, depending on complexity.
What happens if my site needs additional integrations?▾
Features such as e-commerce, booking systems, automation or API integrations are quoted separately.
If additional infrastructure is required to run these features, there may be an additional £25/month hosting cost per service.
Everything is explained and agreed upfront before work begins.
Do you offer custom features?▾
Yes. We regularly build custom functionality such as integrations, automations and bespoke features.
These are scoped and quoted separately based on the work involved.
Why not just use a website builder?▾
Website builders can be a great starting point, especially for simple projects.
However many businesses eventually find they spend more time maintaining their website than expected — managing updates, working around template limitations, or trying to customise something that wasn’t designed for their needs.
At Final State, every website is custom built, rather than based on a pre-made template. This means your site is designed specifically for your business and can evolve over time without being restricted by a platform.
We also take care of the hosting, infrastructure and maintenance, so your website stays fast, secure and easy to run without becoming another job.
Do you work with existing websites?▾
Sometimes. If your current website is suitable for improvement rather than rebuilding, we can discuss options during the consultation.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?▾
No. Hosting is monthly and can be cancelled at any time. You can pay & commit to an annual subscription if you’d prefer.
Your site remains active until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.
What happens if I move my site away from Final State?▾
You’re free to move your website to another provider at any time.
We’ll provide a copy of your website so it can be hosted elsewhere. As our hosting environment, tooling and infrastructure are specific to Final State, your new provider may need to make adjustments to run the site in their environment.
Assistance with migrations can be arranged if needed.
